Monument #1 celebrates Terra and its native staking token, Luna. Terra was founded in January 2018 by Do Kwon and Daniel Shin. The platform uses a proof-of-stake consensus validation system, which consumes dramatically less energy than legacy proof-of-work blockchains.

The digital version of ‘Luna in Spring’ was auctioned on OpenSea in April, 2020. All proceeds were donated to Ukraine humanitarian relief charities and endowments via Terra-based Angel Protocol, the creators of Restore Earth.
